Tappeinerweg trail (6 km)

This hugely popular trail offers stunning views of Merano and the Adige valley. The botanical nature trail leads past a variety of interesting plants all the way to the famous medieval Ortenstein tower, popularly called “Pulverturm” (powder tower), which was used to store gunpowder from the 17th century onwards. The trail leads along the foothills of Küchelberg mountain (380 m above sea level) from Quarazze eastwards to San Zeno mountain. The trail lies some 100 m above the valley and is relatively flat and easily accessible from many starting points.

Maiser Waalweg trail (9 km)

“Waalweg” means irrigation ditch. There are several such ditches which have dried up and now serve as wonderful hiking trails in the midst of unspoilt nature. This particular trail leads through deciduous trees and conifers, over beautiful hills into the Passiria valley and all the way to Saltusio. The entire trail takes about 2-3 hours to walk but can be shortened according to your liking.

Hiking on the sunny side - Meran 2000

In close proximity to the Castle Hotel Castel Rundegg, the Ifinger cable car with its spacious panorama cabins for 120 people will bring you directly to the hiking trails of Meran 2000 in merely 7 minutes.

 

Plenty of trails with breathtaking viewpoints provide for a magical hiking location. Summit destinations and the via ferrata ‘Heini Holzer’ will enthuse adventurers instead. Bikers, thrill-seekers and sunbathers will all enjoy their stay here as well.

Sunny spots together with cozy huts invite you to linger and treat you with typical regional dishes as well as alpin-mediterranean delicacies.

Original. Rustic. Ulten Valley.

The Ulten Valley is a particularly densely wooded valley and is located near Merano in South Tyrol. It is known for its magnificent alpine pastures and high alpine pastures. Especially on the mountain slopes facing south, there is often a whole chain of ancient mountain farms.

Mountaineers and hikers will find a wide choice of walks and excursions to mountain lakes and peaks.

On the tracks of the iceman "Ötzi" - Val Senales Valley

The bizarre alpine Val Senales Valley is an insider tip in summer. If you want to enjoy authentic nature, experience historical farms and rustic alpine pastures and relax, then this is the place for you.
The valley is also known as the location, where the iceman "Ötzi" was found.

Golf - Golfclub Lana (9 holes)

A pleasent 9-hole course with mildly undulated fairways. Never a good walk spoilt on this easy walking 2887 m length course with a par 35. With 3 par 3's, 4 par 4's and 2 par 5 holes it's a course that will test the tee shot and reward good approach shots to our immaculate greens.
